Q: How do I become a veteran tree recorder?

A: Anybody can become a tree recorder, simply fill in the information on this recording form. If you're unsure of how to fill in the form, or how to collect the data, all you need to do is to contact the Veteran Trees Project Officer Jesse Meredith

He will get in touch with information about how to measure and record trees, when and where any upcoming volunteer events are being held and exactly what data needs to be recorded, as well as management and protection issues or even veteran tree activities with schools.

Q: What do I do if I know where trees are, but not how to record the data that is needed?

A: Even if all you know is the location of a tree, the information is still very important to the project and somebody will be out to have a look at the tree to record all of the information needed to add the tree to the database. So no matter how little information you know about the tree, let us know so we can make sure that any missing information is recorded and the correct action is taken to protect the tree.
